Eight months, one gearbox and a paint match that took three attempts.
Van four came to us as a shell with a seized gearbox and a floor you could see the road through. Eight months later it's on the road, and the only original part left in the drivetrain is the badge.
The paint was the slowest part. Our teal doesn't exist as a stock automotive colour, so it was mixed by hand and sprayed onto test panels three times before it read right in daylight.
Inside, the layout follows the other three exactly: griddle left, prep centre, coffee right. A crepier who has worked one van can work any of them without thinking about where the ladle lives.
It's out at markets across Surrey through the summer, and it still smells faintly of new paint.
