Terms & conditions
The terms that apply when you order from us, book a van or use this website.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the crepesalut.com website or the Crepe Salut app, create an account, join our loyalty programme, order ahead, buy or use a gift card, buy from our online shop, book one of our vans, or use one of our offers. Please read them, along with our Privacy policy and Cookie policy. By using our services you agree to them.
We are Crepe Salut Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14387230, with our registered office at Unit 1a Chapel Lane, Westcott, Dorking RH4 3PJ. Crepe Salut is a registered trade mark of Crepe Salut Limited. You can contact us at support@crepesalut.com.
Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer under UK law. Where these terms and the law differ, the law wins.
2. Your account
- You can create an account in the app or on the website using your mobile number, which we confirm with a one-time code by text message. You must be at least 16 to hold an account. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before buying anything.
- Keep your phone and your login codes to yourself. You are responsible for anything done through your account unless we are at fault. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
- One account per person, registered to your own mobile number. The account is the same on the website and in the app.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or at crepesalut.com/delete-account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used fraudulently or abusively, or has been inactive for a long time, and we will tell you if we do.
3. The app
- We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use the Crepe Salut app on devices you own or control, for your own use, in line with these terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.
- The app needs an internet connection, and some features need an up-to-date operating system. We may release updates that change or remove features, and some updates may be required for the app to keep working.
- Location, notifications and ad tracking are optional. You choose whether to allow them, and you can change your mind in the app or in your phone's settings. Our Privacy policy explains what each one is used for.
- Apple and Google are not party to these terms, have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and are not responsible for it. If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard licence terms also apply, and Apple may enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary.
- Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer, interfere with or try to extract the source code of the app or website, or use automated tools to access them, except as the law allows.
4. Ordering ahead
- You can order from a creperie for collection, through the app or the website. You choose the creperie, your items and a collection time from the slots available.
- We take payment, through Square, when you place the order. Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. If a price is obviously wrong we may cancel the order before it is accepted and refund you.
- Your order is accepted when we confirm it. If we can't fulfil an item or the order, for example because the shop is closed unexpectedly or something has sold out, we will tell you and refund the affected part in full, to the card you paid with.
- Once the kitchen has started your order it can't be changed or cancelled. If you need to change a collection time, contact the creperie as soon as you can and we will help where we can.
- Please collect within your chosen slot. Fresh food doesn't keep, so an order not collected within a reasonable time after its slot may be disposed of, and we can't refund it unless the delay was our fault.
- Stamps for an order placed ahead are added to your loyalty account once the shop has marked the order as collected, not at checkout.
5. Allergens and dietary needs
Our food is made in small kitchens and vans where wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts and other allergens are handled. Our buckwheat batter contains no gluten, but it is cooked on the same hot plate as our wheat batter, so we can't promise there is no cross-contact. If you have an allergy or intolerance, tell the team before you order, in person or in the order note, and ask to see our allergen information. If you don't tell us, we can't take that into account.
6. Our loyalty programme
- Our loyalty programme is free to join. You earn a stamp each time you visit a creperie or van and give your mobile number or scan your loyalty code, and when you collect an order placed ahead (two stamps if that order is £20 or more). When you fill your card you earn a reward, currently a free coffee or 50% off any crepe, which you can use in person or at checkout online.
- Stamps and full-card rewards don't expire. Some limited-time rewards, such as a birthday treat, do, and the expiry date is shown with the reward in the app and on the website.
- Stamps and rewards have no cash value, can't be exchanged for cash, can't be transferred or sold, and are personal to the account they sit on. One reward can be used per order, and rewards can't be combined with other discounts on the same item.
- We may remove stamps or rewards that were added in error, or gained by misuse (for example by sharing codes or exploiting a fault), and we may close accounts that abuse the programme.
- We may change how the programme works, what rewards are offered, or end the programme. We will give reasonable notice of any significant change, and you will be able to use rewards you have already earned during that notice period.
- The programme runs on Square's loyalty system, linked to your mobile number. If you give a different number at the till from the one on your account, the stamps will sit against that number. Email us and we will try to merge them.
7. Gift cards
- You can buy a Crepe Salut eGift card on our website for any amount between £10 and £100. It is sent by email to the recipient (or to you) straight away or on the date you choose.
- Gift cards can be spent at our creperies, at our vans and online, and never expire. They can't be exchanged for cash, topped up, or used to buy another gift card, and no change is given in cash. Any unused balance stays on the card.
- Treat a gift card like cash: anyone with its number can spend it. We can't replace a card that has been lost, stolen or used without the recipient's permission, except where the law says otherwise. You can check a card's balance at crepesalut.com/gift-cards/balance.
- If you bought a gift card online and it hasn't been used, you can cancel within 14 days of the purchase for a full refund. Email us with the order details.
8. Our online shop
- Products in our online shop are sold by Crepe Salut Limited, with the checkout, payment and delivery details handled by Shopify. The product pages show prices, which include VAT where it applies; delivery is charged as shown at checkout.
- We deliver within the United Kingdom only. Standard delivery takes two to four working days, and orders placed before 1pm usually leave the same day. Delivery costs £3.95 for orders under £40 and is free above that; the Highlands and islands are quoted at checkout. A tracking link is emailed when the parcel is collected.
- You can cancel an order for any reason within 14 days of receiving it, and return anything unopened and in resaleable condition within 30 days of delivery. For food safety reasons we can't take back opened mixes, sauces or other food. Email support@crepesalut.com with your order number and we will send a returns label. We refund within five working days of the parcel reaching us, to your original payment method.
- If something arrives damaged or faulty, send us a photo and we will replace it or refund you; there's no need to post it back. This is in addition to your legal rights.
9. Van hire and event bookings
- Send us an enquiry and we will come back with a written quote. A quote is an offer that stays open for the period it states; nothing is booked until you accept it and pay the deposit it asks for. Travel is included in the quote.
- Your booking is confirmed once the deposit is paid. The balance is due by the date in your quote. If you cancel more than 28 days before the event, we refund the deposit in full; if you cancel within 28 days, we keep the deposit. We will always try to move a date rather than cancel it.
- You need to give us what the quote asks for on the day: enough level space for the van or kiosk, access at the agreed time, and power and water if the quote says so. If we can't trade because those aren't provided, the full fee is still payable.
- If we have to cancel because of something outside our control, such as severe weather, a breakdown we can't resolve in time, or a legal restriction, we will offer a new date or a full refund of everything you have paid, and that will be the limit of our liability for the cancellation.
- Guest numbers, menus and serving times are as agreed in writing. Extra guests, extra time or menu changes on the day may be charged at the rates in your quote.
10. Offers and discounts
- Our student discount and blue light discount are 20% off the menu in person at our creperies and vans when you show a valid student card (or a UNiDAYS or Student Beans code online), or a valid Blue Light Card, NHS ID or service ID. They can't be combined with each other, with a loyalty reward on the same item, or with any other offer unless the offer says so.
- Tastecard and CoffeeClub benefits are set by those schemes. Show your membership before you pay; the current offer and its terms are in your scheme's app.
- We may change or withdraw any offer at any time. Offers have no cash value.
11. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Card payments for orders ahead and gift cards are taken by Square, and shop payments by Shopify; both support Apple Pay and Google Pay. We never see or store your full card number. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may cancel the order it was for.
12. Using our services responsibly
Please don't use our website or app to do anything unlawful, to interfere with how they work, to collect data from them automatically, to impersonate someone else, or to post anything offensive or untrue. If you leave us a review, please keep it honest. We may remove content and restrict accounts that break these rules.
13. Our content
The Crepe Salut name and logo are registered trade marks, and the content of our website and app (words, photography, illustrations and design) belongs to us or our licensors. You may share links to it, but please don't copy or reuse it commercially without our written permission.
14. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for breach of your legal rights as a consumer, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by something outside our control, or for business losses if you use our services for business.
- Our website and app are provided for personal use and we don't promise they will be available at all times or free of errors. For a problem with a particular order, booking or gift card, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the first point above applies.
15. Events outside our control
If something outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, power or supplier failure, illness, strikes or a legal restriction, stops us from fulfilling an order or booking, we will tell you as soon as we can, and we won't be responsible for the delay. If the delay is substantial you can cancel and we will refund anything you have paid for what we haven't provided.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we launch something new or the law changes. The date at the foot of this page shows the current version. If a change affects an account you hold, we will tell you in the app, by email or on the website before it takes effect, and if you don't agree with it you can close your account.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep the protection of your local consumer law. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@crepesalut.com and we will do our best to resolve it.
